I enjoyed the video on 3 steps to 21st Century Learning. It makes a good point as far as creating a more comfortable environment for learning, and giving students the chance to collaborate, yet still compete with other groups in the classroom.
It gives me some ideas for change in my classroom, both physically and philisophically. Perhaps, the design of my desk set-up should be one in which my students sit in pods. Philisophically speaking, perhaps I should present what I need to have my students learn, and then, let the students create a way to find that information and present it to me.
It is, however, important for my students to understand what sources are considered reliable information. Likewise, they should know the differences between primary and secondary sources, while understanding if their is a bias to a source's view.
I believe it is important to think about these things, as well as experiment during this year of learning and designing. It will help us in planning how we will successfully spend this grant, next year, so that we can truly create a 21st century learning environment in the classroom.
